About John Lithium

Hello. I am an experimental electronic musician who has created music under a variety of pseudonyms over the years, but has mainly released music under the name John Lithium.

I have been creating music since 2000, and have had the pleasure of working with a wide variety of netlabels, including (but not limited to): Amduscias Records, Timetheory Netlabel, Not The Normal Shit, Treetrunk, Mr. Aticque, Witte Dood, Clinical Archives, Sounds Abount, Twilight Luggage, Dirgehead Distro, Dustin Must Die, Love Torture Records, Wholeness Recordings, Brownian Motion, Pan Pan Pan (Avian Distress Call), Internet Daemon, The Cousin Silas Emporium, Means Mag, Sounds For The Soul, Poverty Electronics, Petroglyph Music, and several others.

In addition to this, I am also the co-founder (along with Ohio-based experimental musician Reon Moebius) and general manager of the experimental music net-label “Argali Records”, an endeavor to release high-quality experimental music of a wide variety of genres and experiences (mainly through quarterly compilations), in addition to occasional EP and LP releases.

Thank you all for your continued support and encouragement.
This One’s For You.

  2. Good day, Johnny.
forgive, I do not speak English)
I have a question for you. I would like to ask your permission to use your music track “Silicon City”, which I found on the Internet.
I would like to use it as a soundtrack to the non-commercial short video. I made to demonstrate their animation and graphics. Indeed. Your name will be on the film credits.

The final result is, I’ll show you))
I would be glad if you answer me!
    Thank you.

    • To my knowledge, I have never written a song called “Silicon City”. Do you have a link to where you found this track?
Most of my music is Creative Commons licensed, so if you want I can give you a few links to albums you can go through if you want.
(Most of the material is experimental/dark ambient/drone though, with a few exceptions).
      Thanks.

    • I am afraid this is a different composer. Unfortunately, I’m not really familiar with this site so I’m not really able to advise on how you would be able to get in contact with this person.
Sorry I can’t really be of help in this matter, but hope you are able to get in touch with them so your project can go forward.
      Cheers! 🙂

  5. hi John, thank you for your comment on Bandcamp for my album Logical (I checked in there today after a long pause with Bandcamp). I really appreciate you taking the time to comment, and glad you enjoy my album. Some new material coming soon, including some that I will be giving away to music fans as a gift.

  6. Hello John, My name is Troy I’m the one who just uploaded the Unlight collection of music vid on my youtube channel. A friend of mine told me about your work and how similar it was to the Unlight music we have just found in an unprobbable sequence of events. Anyhow if you or any of your fans have any info on the creator of the Unlight project I would love to hear about it. Anyhow, I hope people enjoy this recently discovered collection.

  7. Hello there! I’m an admin on the Heavy Rain Wiki, and I’m trying to confirm that you composed some of the songs (including “Mental Fundamental”) that are heard in the game. You already have an article on the wiki, and I just want to be sure all the information in it is correct and I haven’t confused you with another John(ny) Lithium.

Thank you very much for your time!

    • Good morning, just a quick note that I am NOT the composer in question. While I am familiar with the Heavy Rain video game, I do not know the composer(s) of the game offhand. I am aware there are at least two other John Lithium’s in the music business, but don’t know any specifics regarding them. I would ask you to please take down my profile picture and website from the wiki page as soon as is convenient, as I do not wish to incur the ire of the actual composer(s) of the game.

Thank you and have a great day.

      • Thanks for your quick reply. I’ve removed the photo and link to your website and will hopefully be able to track down the actual composer at some point in the future. Take care!
