John Lithium Discography 2007-2018 (Updated 07/11/2018)

This, to my knowledge, is a mostly comprehensive list of the musical material I have released to date. If anyone should come across compilations where my music has been featured and/or used, please let me know so I can update the list (I am not always informed of my inclusion in these projects).

Most of my work is now being distributed through Bandcamp, with previous distribution being through Archive.org and Last.FM. I also use Soundcloud for rough demos and experiments.

Albums released under the Luminarens and Orphan names are not included in this list because none were released digitally and several of the tracks from those project were remixed/re-sequenced for early Terra Engine and John Lithium albums.

I also enjoy listener feedback, whether it is positive or negative.

  1. Dear John Lithium,

Your track from the Brownian Motion comp #3 “Logic is Lonely” has been mixed into the soundtrack of this semi-animated, sonically immersive film. Initially intended as a graphic novel, inspired by the NON album of the same name, it’s spontaneous transmutation would more accurately describe it as a graphic manifesto:

I have no commercial interests. Rather, I felt compelled to release this film in a free lo-fi video format, specifically so that it could not be considered a commodity. Catharsis is as catharsis does… However, if you wish to be removed from this project, your request will be honored.

Thank you for your time ~ as time is the only true loss…especially since “it takes so long to be considered seriously as an artist, and not just called a crazy woman.” – Marina Abramović

    Sincerely,
    Tena
    [Bitter Pie / Deletist]

[If you receive the “not available in your country” error message, there will be a non-youtube version on http://deletist.info soon so that we may all feel a little less stalked by the Google-Monster.]

  2. Hello,
Are you the creator of the album “How to Achieve a Lower Level of Consciousness” under the moniker Unlight? It had tracks like Pusher, Ambience, Plainfield Experience, Fear of Being Fearful, Harmony of Spheres, Unique, and maybe also Ninthgate. I downloaded these tracks off Napster around 20 years ago, and have tried to locate the creator with no luck. Some of your tracks remind me of those, so I thought I’d ask. Thank you for your time, David.

    • I’m not Unlight, although it’s fair to say that my work to some extent has been inspired by his project. Discovered his tracks through Audiogalaxy (which I’m guessing was Napster-adjacent to some degree) many, many years ago. All I can remember about the project was the guy was based in Germany and had one other release besides “How To Achieve…”. That’s what I remember at least anyway.
In any event, I’m honored to be compared to the project, as I’ve always thought there needed to be more mid-tempo atmospheric industrial out there. PS Just saw that the album is on YouTube, uploaded three hours ago (as of this writing). I’m not one to say ‘the stars aligned’ or ‘it’s a property of synchronicity’, but… [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtjlXiHAdoQ].
Thanks again and take care. -jl

      • Thank you so much for replying. What a mystery! I thought I’d detected a similar thread in some of your music, and wondered if it might be more than coincidence. Glad at least that my search led me to you and your music. I look forward to experiencing it. Thanks again, d.
